We’re thrilled to be producing a new, crowd-sourced video project in partnership with International Jazz Day 2020 for Niels’ new song “World Peace.

We’re asking our fellow artists and jazz fans from around the world to submit short videos (see guidelines below) showing us in moving images how you’re striving for your individual peace and harmony during this challenging time in our shared human existence. It’s difficult to work for broader world peace right now, but if we as individuals can create peace in ourselves and direct sphere of influence, together we make a more peaceful world.

We want to know what “World Peace” looks like through your eyes right now during Covid-19 isolation. Jazz (and more broadly, music) has been a healing tool for many of us recently, but so is our family, reconnecting with friends and relatives online, meditation, exercise, nature, reading, writing, learning and teaching, helping others, art, gardening, etc. We want a candid, authentic view to what you are doing to heal yourself and people within your reach right now. Each of us are individual notes and when arranged in a mix of calculation and improvisation, we together make beautiful music. Help us show how the worldwide jazz community is contributing to World Peace.

FINAL VIDEO: Debut on April 30th for International Jazz Day.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Please read before submission. Acceptance is required.

EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION:

Wednesday April 22nd at 12:00pm Central European Time

IMPORTANT VIDEO GUIDELINES:

  • Videos should be 10-15 seconds maximum length.

  • Shoot/submit horizontal/landscape/sideways videos only, please! (NO VERTICAL VIDEOS - They don’t look good for a mini film)

  • For this to work, we need to see action of WHAT you’re doing - we can’t use moving images of you talking to the camera.

  • We also won’t use your audio, so you need to tell your story through the moving images alone. This should be a candid look at your authentic actions to achieve a state of peace.

  • Give us the best resolution you can from your phones. We don’t expect professional production quality. We are all in the same crisis together. Our phones are our shared tools.

  • Use your artistic eye. Be playful. Have fun. This is an art project about World Peace. How are you contributing to it in your own environment.
