ABOUT:
HOLBÆK JAZZ FESTIVAL 2026 - CLOSING CONCERT
Three singular musical voices come together for the closing concert of Holbæk Jazz Festival 2026: Grammy-winning drummer Terri Lyne Carrington, pianist Niels Lan Doky, and bassist Felix Pastorius.
One of the defining artists of contemporary jazz, Carrington has spent decades at the forefront of the music as a drummer, composer, producer and bandleader. Her remarkable career has brought her alongside artists such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, John Scofield and Dianne Reeves, while her own projects have continually challenged and expanded the language of modern jazz.
Carrington and Doky share a musical relationship spanning more than three decades, across recordings, international projects and live performances. Their collaborations are rooted in a shared instinct for music that is both deeply expressive and constantly in motion - respectful of tradition, but never confined by it.
For this special performance they are joined by Felix Pastorius, whose fluid, highly individual approach to the bass adds a third distinctive voice to the conversation.
Together, the trio brings an unusual combination of lyricism, rhythmic freedom and spontaneous interplay to the stage. Three musicians with unmistakable identities - meeting in the moment, without knowing exactly where the music will take them.
