“The Horizon Within” Solo Piano @ Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
The Horizon Within – Niels Lan Doky Solo Piano at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
I am deeply pleased to return to Louisiana Museum of Modern Art for a new solo piano concert — The Horizon Within. This performance marks a very special reunion, taking place exactly one year after my sold-out debut solo recital at the museum — my first-ever solo concert on Danish soil.
Performing alone at the piano offers a rare and intimate space for reflection, discovery, and dialogue — not only between the artist and the instrument, but between the music and the listener. Every note becomes a moment of connection; every silence, an invitation to breathe and feel.
A Journey Through Sound and Emotion
In The Horizon Within, I explore the balance between composition and improvisation — between structure and freedom. My intention is to create an immersive experience that reflects both the inner landscapes of emotion and the outer horizons of imagination. The repertoire draws from my original works as well as spontaneous improvisations and reinterpretations, shaped entirely by the moment we share together.
Each concert is, by nature, unique — a living conversation where no two evenings are the same. This is what I love most about solo performance: its honesty, vulnerability, and capacity to reveal something new every time.
A Place Where Art and Music Meet
Louisiana is one of my favorite venues in the world — not only for its stunning surroundings and world-class exhibitions, but for its spirit of openness and curiosity. Performing here feels like a natural extension of the museum’s artistic vision: to celebrate creativity in all its forms.
I invite you to join me on this journey. Together, we will explore The Horizon Within — a space where melody, memory, and imagination meet.
